Community food larders

 

A community larder offers food to local people who suffer from hunger or do not have enough food to eat. Several of our libraries have a community larder. Some also have a community fridge.

 

Anyone can use a community larder – there's no need for identification or forms. Items in the larder are free but we ask all visitors to take no more than 3 items each day. This is to make sure there's enough for anyone in need.

 

We welcome donations to our community larders. You can donate unopened tinned or packaged food. Perishable food such as fresh fruit or dairy products can be donated at libraries with a community fridge.

 

Drinks with alcohol cannot be donated as alcohol is not allowed in libraries.
