Teenagers Invited to Take on Thurrock Libraries’ Older Summer Reading Challenge

Teenagers across Thurrock are being encouraged to make reading part of their summer plans by signing up for the Older Summer Reading Challenge at their local library.

The challenge is simple: pick up a free challenge bookmark from library staff, read four books over the summer, and return the completed bookmark to claim a stylish water bottle as a reward.

Open to young people aged 11+, the challenge aims to encourage teenagers to discover new authors, explore different genres and enjoy reading for pleasure during the school holidays.

Whether they enjoy fantasy adventures, gripping thrillers, graphic novels, romance, non-fiction or classic favourites, participants can choose any four books to complete the challenge.

The challenge is free to join and runs throughout the summer at Thurrock Libraries.

Teenagers can visit any Thurrock Library to collect their bookmark and start their reading journey today.

For more information, visit your local library or see the Thurrock Libraries social media channels.
